Dean joined the Marine Corps at age 17 and served four years on active duty in the infantry. He has a B.S. in Economics from the University of North Texas and his Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan University.

Dean has been licensed since 2005, during which time he received the Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars from Thomson Reuters in 2014, 2015, and 2016, as well as Texas Super Lawyer from Thomas Reuters in 2023. He is also peer-reviewed on Martindale-Hubbell with a preeminent rating. 

Dean is regarded as one of the best trial attorneys in Tarrant County and started defense work by winning his first ten jury trials. Specializing in DWI offenses, Dean is a zealous advocate for his clients both in and out of the courtroom. He’s recently secured acquittals for his clients where the alleged alcohol scores were .143, .21, .32, .15, .217, and .14.
